HOW-TO INSTALL:
In this video you will learn how to correctly install the Paint Can Hero along with some professional tips to get the most out of your new paint tool.
step 1A
Remove Paint Can Hero from packaging. With 'POUR HERE' text on the spout rim facing up, align notches on the ring of the Paint Can Hero with the can handles.
Pro tip #1
Once installed, there will be a uniform 1/16" to 1/8" gap between the top of the paint can and the bottom edge of the Paint Can Hero. The gap should be uniform around the paint Can as any variance may prevent the spout from engaging with the mounting ring.

Twist spout of Paint Can Hero counterclockwise to retract into can. Press firmly on top of Paint Can Hero ring to preliminarily engage the rim of the paint can.

Test the fit of your Paint Can Hero by very gently pulling up on the edge of the ring to verify it has engaged the channel of the paint can.

With the spout retracted into the can, use a mallet, hammer or 5 in 1 tool to complete the install of the Paint Can Hero into the rim of the paint can. For optimal installation, hit the inner edge of the channel as indicated above.

step 1A

Insert church key or 5 in 1 tool into one of the slots on top of the Paint Can Hero spout. Lift spout up angling key out. With spout fully extended, twist clockwise till spout stops to lock in place.
Pro tip #3
Stir paint if necessary with the spout extended to prevent fowling the paint can rim. Once stirring is complete, clean the mixing stick against flat edge of pull tabs to remove excess paint.

Pick up the paint can, tip the can over and pour paint at locations noted as 'POUR HERE' on the rim of the Paint Can Hero spout. Once pouring is finished, tip can up slowly to allow excess paint to drip from the spout edge and prevent fowling the rim of the Paint Can Hero.
pro tip #4
Paint directly from the can with the spout extended when the can is full. Use the flat edge of the pull tab to wipe excess paint from the brush to prevent fowling the paint can rim. If the can has been emptied a bit, paint with the spout retracted.
Step 3a
Retract the spout by twisting it counterclockwise and dropping it back into the paint can. Reinstall the original lid of the paint can with a mallet or hammer to store.

Store paint for extended periods of time with Paint Can Hero installed inside the can. Paint Can Hero maintains the airtight seal, paint remains wet and the spout stays ready to use. Storing with Paint Can Hero installed also minimizes the potential of rim rust.

HOW-TO reuse:
In this video you will learn how to remove and clean the Paint Can Hero to reuse in your next can.
step 4A
Remove Paint Can Hero from the paint can with standard church key, 5 in 1 tool or screwdriver by inserting tool within the gap between the Paint Can Hero ring and the top of the paint can. Push down with the tool which will raise the spout up.

Lower the spout to the retracted position and separate the sleeve from the ring by pulling one of the flat tabs on the top of the sleeve toward the center. Once the three side cleats clear the inner edge of the ring, push down and slide the sleeve free of the ring.
step 4C
With the parts separated, wash spout and ring with soap and water. If using oil-based paint, clean with mineral spirits prior to washing with soap and water. For the easiest and quickest clean up, wash the Paint Can Hero immediately after removing it from the paint can while the paint is still wet.
pro tip #6
For dried paint, use a sponge with a scrubbing pad, mineral spirits on a paper towel or scrape with a toothpick. Once dried paint is removed, finish washing with soap and water.

Reassemble Paint Can Hero by inserting the vertical guide of the spout into the recess notch of the ring from the bottom side. Press the opposite side of the spout from the inserted guide towards the center until the three side cleats clear the inner edge of the ring and push thru so that both vertical guides are nested into the recess notches of the ring.
